Pirate Island wins Alexa Skills Challenge ISP award

Congratulations to André Alcantara and Dyung Ngo for winning the Alexa Skills Challenge: In-Skill Purchasing award for their voice app Pirate Island.
Alcantara has been working in experiential marketing for more than 15 years, connecting people with brands and products. Ngo, on the other hand, has plied his trade in various sectors within the tech space from aerospace engineering to enterprise productivity.
Through their shared passion for emerging technology, the two of them joined forces to co-found CogniVocal. Together they designed and developed Pirate Island in a manner where users could easily interact with the story, characters, and in-skill purchasing flows.
It was also awesome to hear how Voiceflow contributed to their design process.
"We believe that part of the role of Voice Tech companies is to teach people how to interact with this brand new technology. Beyond a meaningful voice product, delivering a great voice experience is crucial to engage users, and Voiceflow was extremely helpful for me in designing the game experience and dialogues, including using the SSML editor to polish up character voices." - André Alcantara
