Stannp.com, a leading UK/US direct mail automation platform, needed a smarter way to handle inbound queries across two websites without relying solely on live chat. Their team was looking for a way to boost conversions and free up support time without compromising customer experience. By deploying an AI-powered lead-gen and FAQ chatbot across their UK and US sites, Stannp was able to automatically qualify leads, follow up intelligently, and drive more demo bookings—especially when live chat was offline.

  • 78 new leads captured automatically (25 sample pack requests, 53 follow-up requests)
  • Increase in demo bookings attributed to after-hours engagement
  • Follow up questions and smart prompting that improved lead conversion rates

The problem

Before implementing the AI chatbot, Stannp relied heavily on human agents to handle website queries through live chat. This setup presented three key problems:

  1. Missed leads when live chat was offline - particularly outside UK business hours.
  2. Repetitive questions about pricing, sample packs, and CRM integrations clogged the team’s time.
  3. Split support burden across UK and US websites, each with different knowledge bases and customer needs.

Stannp's ideal state? An automated, intelligent agent that could capture intent, answer FAQs, and push users toward conversion - without needing someone online 24/7.

The solution

Working closely with the Stannp team, we designed and deployed two tailored AI agents—one for the UK site and one for the US site—each trained on its own custom knowledge base. 

Key features:

  1. Smart follow-up flows
    The AI doesn't stop at answering questions. If someone asks about print pricing, for example, the bot follows up:
    “Would you like a free sample pack?” or “Want to see how it works? I can book you in for a demo.”
  2. Offline lead capture
    When live chat is disabled, the AI takes over—logging leads, qualifying interest, and routing info to the sales team via webhook.
  3. Dual knowledge base support
    The UK and US bots pull from region-specific content, ensuring that answers are always relevant to the visitor’s location, especially important for a direct mail platform.

The result

In the first few months post-launch:

  • Replaced their traditional knowledge base interface with an embedded AI agent.
  • 25 new sample pack request leads came in through the bot (since Jan 25, 2025).
  • 53 follow-up request leads were captured, largely outside office hours (since Dec 2024).
  • Demo bookings increased, especially from visitors who interacted with the AI during off-hours.
  • Less pressure on the live team, freeing them up to focus on higher-priority tasks.

The AI agent now plays a key role in Stannp’s sales funnel—answering pre-sales queries, capturing intent, and nudging potential customers to convert.
